"We try to grab piece of our lives as they speed past us. Photographs freeze those pieces and help us remember how we were. We don't know these lost people but if you look around, you'll find someone just like them." Gene McSweeney

Scrubbin'

Mom gave Samira a pair of scrubs for my birthday. She will wear these for a few more days until I change her into her pumpkin costume.
I'm seriously considering getting myself a new camera for my birthday. My current hand-me-down one is starting to show its age (hence the vertical red line.)

Completion!

One thousand colorful pieces!
I have returned to Project-365-Land after a brief and unscheduled hiatus. I'm kinda excited to start shooting and posting again!

Nature Hike

I like this intriguing four-pronged tree that I came upon during a short day hike.
It was hard to choose between this shot, which is clearly the better photograph, and this runner up, which is just funny considering that Monica took a panty picture this week!

I think its interesting that, on some days, I have to work to find anything at all that I want to photograph, and on others, I struggle to choose between several pictures.

Pizza, pizza!

Is this not the most aweseomest looking pizza ever?
Is it a little strange that Monica and I both took pictures of food today?

Long Fence

For a very long time, I thought these signs served as a public safety warning.
Watch out - this is a really long fence!
It especially made my wheels spin when I saw them posted on what I considered to be a not-very-long fence.

Nine Eleven

I had trouble deciding which shot to go with today, so I decided to post both of them and make this my first twofer.

Like a Dog to Peanut Butter

When I've extracted all the peanut butter I can from the jar, I give it to the dog. First, she cleans the top inside part of the jar. Then she goes to work shredding and ripping off the label (no product placement here!) Finally, she settles in for the long and arduous task of cleaning every remnant of peanut butter from the jar's entirety. Its quite an interesting display of agility and fortitude.

Mariposa

This huge Tiger Swallowtail is a regular visitor to my Butterfly Bush. I usually see him in the early morning or in the middle of the afternoon. I've been hoping to catch a shot of him to post here.

Disc Brakes

My new mountain bike has disc brakes. Sweet!
I have a confession: I took this pic on Saturday. I did choose the subject on Friday, as I was falling asleep, but I was too sleepy/lazy to get up and actually snap it.
Hope it still counts!

Abyss

"If you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."
-Friedrich Nietzsche
This is my reflection in the TV screen. I wish I had zoomed out a bit more so that it showed the TV set in the shot.

He hopped away when I tried to kiss him.

Unfurnished

Sofas? We don' need no stinkin' sofas! Same goes for the table.
Just don't disconnect us from cable tv with surround sound, wireless internet and smartphone cell service.

Eyeshine

The neighbor's cat.
I don't like this shot, and I really really wanted to re-do it, but I triumphed over my OCD and resisted.
